Purchasing Manager

  • £30,000 to £35,000 Per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Manager to join a business that is regarded as one of the best and most modern garment embellishment companies in the UK. They lead the market in producing branded promotional clothing and uniforms for some of the world’s most prestigious brands such as Google, Poker Stars, Amazon, and many more, and are looking for someone to lead the team and take it to its next level.

Reporting to the Operations Director, your role will be to oversee the day-to-day workings of the team, overseeing the management of stock hold though the system to ensure core items are identified, held and replenished and reporting back to management. In addition to this communicating information from suppliers to the sales team, such as incoming price changes, core items, and arranging new product meetings.

As Purchasing Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Being proactive in implementing system changes and developing processes for the department
  • Build relationships internally as well as with suppliers as their key contact to ensure queries are resolved effectively and efficiently
  • Communicating information from suppliers to the sales team, such as incoming price changes, core items, and arranging new product meetings
  • Raise purchase orders, whilst adhering to all relevant procedures
  • Monitoring future jobs to ensure stock is ordered in advance and in time for production to commence
  • Manage stock hold though the system to ensure core items are identified, held and replenished, with reporting to management
  • Confident in negotiating pricing with existing and potential suppliers
  • Involved in rebate negotiations and management of progress and reporting KPI’s
  • Making sure internal systems always have up to date pricing, gathering data from all suppliers and liaising with IT company to ensure processed and live
  • Ensure system/data information is recorded and up to date, i.e. core sizes, colours in catalogue, core products list, supplier info notes
  • Answering general enquiries from other departments within the business
  • Monthly reporting to management in Senior Management meetings
