Mechanical Fitter Team Leader

  • £34,000 - £39,000 per annum

A growing business based in Sandy is looking for a Mechanical Fitter Team Leader to supervise daily work activities, maintain a safe working environment and support the production manager. Along with a salary of up to £39,000 per annum, you will receive an annual bonus, bereavement leave, employee discount, life insurance and sick pay.

  • You will be working Monday-Friday, 39 hours per week.

As Mechanical Fitter Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include working alongside the Production Manager to:

  • Oversee department H&S and quality needs
  • Maintain a clean & tidy working environment
  • Develop & maintain individuals’ training and skill requirements
  • Lead teams and direct focus towards goals for achieving production deliverables
  • Participate in working activities & solves working problems
  • Focus on continuous improvements by creating efficiencies, implementing & completing projects
  • Cover areas/tasks in the absence of the production manager
  • Set high quality expectations & ups killing others
  • Review shelf-life of adhesives, checking stock levels of consumables – requesting purchase
  • Update on successes, issues, concerns & opportunities – verbally or by written report
  • Adhere to the procedures defined by All-Fill’s ISO9001 QA system.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Fitter Team Leader with the following qualification, knowledge and skills:

  • Apprenticeship trained, City & Guilds, ONC, trade qualification. CSE, GCSE, NVQ in English Math.
  • Mechanical Instrument/Special machine building and fitting.
  • Understanding and working to technical drawings, using measuring instruments & following SOP’s.
  • Bench craft skills – marking drilling cutting, threading, forming & using various hand tools.
  • Extensive experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP/MRP systems
