Finance Assistant

  • £28,000 to £32,000 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a business that is regarded as one of the best and most modern garment embellishment companies in the UK. They lead the market in producing branded promotional clothing and uniforms for some of the world’s most prestigious brands such as Google, Poker Stars, Amazon, and many more.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within a well-established and friendly team. Along with a salary of up to £32,000 per annum, you will also benefit from a casual dress code in the office, a company pension, and free onsite parking.

As Finance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing supplier invoices and resolving queries.
  • Managing an outsourced team that processes supplier invoices.
  • Conducting month-end supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Preparing monthly and weekly payment runs.

Processing employee expenses.

  • Managing the automatic customer invoicing portal and resolving errors.
  • Processing customer credits for returns and queries.
  • Assisting with credit control, including chasing payments from credit account customers and proforma payments.
  • Sending and reconciling customer statements.
  • Posting and reconciling daily website customer payments.
  • Daily bank postings and reconciliations for GBP/EUR/USD accounts, Stripe Portal, and PayPal.
  • Processing purchase, sales, and nominal ledger transactions for our European Entity.
  • Assisting with month-end reporting procedures.
  • Assisting with quarterly VAT returns.
  • Supporting the finance team in ad hoc projects, reports and process improvements as required.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Sage 50 is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
